Hello! My name is Max. I'm an engineering and philosophy student at Harvey Mudd College (3.9 GPA) with a 1530 on my first and only SAT attempt. I've spent years working with children ages five through fifteen—teaching ecology and cooking at the New York Botanical Gardens and tutoring math and science in my spare time. I tutor middle and high schoolers in math, physics, and test prep.

Throughout my time helping students, especially in STEM, I have seen how important it is to go back to the basics. Students who don’t understand a foundational skill will make no progress by repeating problem after problem. Instead, in my experience, they will just begin to dislike the subject altogether even if they manage to pass the next test. While I can’t promise you or your child will love gerunds or kinematics as much as I do, I can guarantee that they will come away with a foundational understanding of the underlying theory involved, so that they have the tools to approach new types of questions.
