My tutoring approach begins with building genuine connection and trust. I take time to understand each student’s strengths and growth areas through targeted questions and review of past work. Together, we co-create clear goals and milestones, and I design a personalized plan aligned to those goals and the student’s learning style. After every session, I ask, “What’s working?” and “What can be improved?”
A key part of my work is helping students move past any mental blocks that limit motivation or engagement. I ground the learning process in the “why” and “how” of real-world application to make the material meaningful and relevant.
Essay writing is my specialty. I guide students to craft authentic, compelling college or fellowship essays that highlight their unique story and what they can uniquely offer institutions.
Experience: At the California Charter Schools Association, I co-developed and delivered a statewide program for aspiring charter founders, provided feedback on dozens of proposals, designed the program curriculum, facilitated program sessions, and evaluated outcomes.
I also tutor high school math -- having earned perfect scores on all NY State Regents exams and AP Calculus AB.
