I am a passionate and dedicated educator currently working as a Middle School Dance Teacher at Success Academy. With over 19 years of experience in movement instruction and 3 years of crochet expertise, I have had the privilege of teaching students of all ages, from young children to adults, in both classroom and studio settings. My background in dance, yoga, crochet, and general education allows me to create engaging, well-rounded, and mindful learning experiences that meet students where they are and help them grow with confidence.
In my current role, I have gained valuable experience with the New York State ELA and Math curriculum, which has given me a strong understanding of what students are expected to learn across grade levels. This knowledge helps me integrate creativity, movement, and mindfulness into academic and enrichment settings alike. My teaching philosophy focuses on inspiring creativity, confidence, and mindfulness through practices such as breathwork, meditation, embodiment, and yoga nidra. I strive to provide inclusive and supportive spaces where students can explore self-expression, personal growth, and joy in learning.
I hold RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) and YBT 50 (Yin Breathwork Training) certifications, and I often weave yoga and mindfulness principles into my teaching to promote balance, focus, and emotional well-being. Beyond movement instruction, I am an experienced crochet artist specializing in hats, purses, and handmade clothing such as jackets, dresses, and pants. I enjoy sharing these skills with learners of all ages, helping them discover patience, creativity, and pride through their work. Looking ahead, my goal is to become a Dance Movement Therapist (DMT) so that I can continue to support others in connecting mind, body, and emotion through creative movement.
