I’m Christy, a Bronx-based educator with a heart for helping students find their voice through reading and writing. For the past 3 years, I’ve worked in a middle school charter setting, supporting 5th–8th grade students in building confidence with ELA — especially when it comes to reading comprehension, grammar, essay writing, and breaking down complex texts. I’ve also supported students who struggle with staying focused or organizing their thoughts, and I’ve learned how to meet them with patience and structure.
I’m currently pursuing my degree in education at Westchester Community College, where I continue to sharpen my skills as a future classroom teacher. My tutoring approach is all about meeting students where they’re at and helping them grow at a pace that feels good to them. I aim to make reading and writing feel less like a task and more like a tool for self-expression and success.
Whether your child is falling behind or simply wants to level up their skills, I’m here to guide them with clarity, encouragement, and real strategies they can carry into the classroom and beyond.
