I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, a CELTA certification from the University of Cambridge, and I am currently earning my Master of Arts in Teaching (7–12 ELA certification) at Relay Graduate School of Education. These academic experiences have given me both a deep understanding of English language and literature as well as a solid foundation in pedagogy and student-centered instruction.

I have over ten years of teaching experience, including eight years abroad in South Korea where I taught English to students ranging from elementary to high school. I worked in both classroom and one-on-one settings, including with advanced students in a rigorous program modeled after the U.S. high school curriculum. Since returning to the United States, I have been teaching 12th grade AP English Language and Composition at a charter high school in the Bronx. My students include English Language Learners and students with IEPs, and I differentiate instruction to meet their varied academic and developmental needs.

My approach to tutoring emphasizes building students’ confidence, critical thinking, and mastery of content through guided questioning, active discussion, and scaffolded practice. I believe in creating a supportive and structured environment where students feel safe to make mistakes, receive feedback, and grow. Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, I am committed to helping each student meet their academic goals while nurturing a genuine love for learning.
