I've been creating media ever since I was in the 5th grade, but it wasn't until college that I received formal training. Now that I have graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with my BFA in 2D animation, I aim to be that resource I lacked as a kid. If you are an artist, filmmaker, or game designer hoping to get a head start on their career, or a hobbyist hoping to expand their artistry, I am here to ensure your success.

I've been creating media ever since I was in the 5th grade, but it wasn't until college that I received formal training. Now that I have graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with my BFA in 2D animation, I aim to be that resource I lacked as a kid. If you are an artist, filmmaker, or game designer hoping to get a head start on their career, or a hobbyist hoping to expand their artistry, I am here to ensure your success.

I have devoted hours to my art studies and my efforts have paid off: In high school, I earned a 3.7 GPA and won an award for excellence in art history. In college, my short film "Croak" won an award at the Trinity Film Festival. I've been through the ups and downs of the art-learning process, and I use that experience to guide my teaching methods.

I began tutoring in high school. I worked as a teacher's assistant for a youth art program ( ages 11 - 14) during my senior year of high school. A couple years into college, I once again worked as a teacher's assistant for a figure drawing class (18 - 21). I led digital art workshops at a youth camp (6 - 16) in 2023 and I've worked as a teaching artist for the past year in my local school (5-7).

When it's fun, it's not work: I always encourage my students to find the fun in learning. Lessons and experiences become memorable when we are enjoying ourselves and so I keep my lessons light and approachable. Nevertheless, I also attempt to develop my students' critical thinking skills. I am not here to simply parrot information, but rather give my students the space to explore topics and concepts for themselves. These periods of discovery are important for learning as I believe lessons stick us better when we have personal experiences attached to them.

I studied filmmaking in college and have expertise in all steps of the filmmaking process, from conceptualization and storyboarding to editing and color correction. I've been using Premiere Pro for 9+ years and have produced multiplate animated short films. I am patient and easy-going, letting my students learn at their own pace as they gradually work up the confidence to use Premiere independently.

I can’t say enough great things about Moe. The amount of knowledge I have absorbed learning a program, adobe illustrator, which just never came easily to me is now so clear and enjoyable. He records our lessons so I can always go back if I forget something. Our hour goes by way too quickly but at the same time I leave with a wealth of knowledge.
