I'm Jess! I graduated with an Anthropology and French degree from Amherst College, and went on to receive my Masters in Special Education from Hunter College, as well as my Master of Education in school leadership from Columbia University. I have taught for 10+ years in New York City public charter schools, with many years of experience teaching phonics, literature, writing, biology, chemistry, algebra, geometry, global history, US history, and study skills. I have taught in large classroom settings of 30+ students, as well as SETSS and special class settings ranging from 4-12 students, and have provided 1 to 1 tutoring services in school settings.
I also have coached varsity and club soccer for over 1 years, and love working with students of all ages and ability levels, but especially those who may be encountering challenges in school and need more support. I believe that all students can be successful with the right supports, and look forward to providing the individual experience required for each student I work with to thrive.
