Hello there! I am Carlos and I am a bilingual High School Math tutor. Back when I was in engineering school, I realized two things. First, the best way to learn - and remember topics - was to use simple language. Second, practicing - doing problems, performing simulations, building designs - was the best way to really understand and remember the topics. Those insights helped me as a student and later, also helped me as an engineer and a teacher.

After 10 years working as a manufacturing engineer, I accepted the challenge of moving to a different country to work in education. I embraced the challenge and enjoyed it so much that I ended teaching in The Bronx for a total of 13 years.
My education allowed me to be certified as an Educator for Children with Disabilities at the secondary level in New York.
After working in three schools - a middle school and two high schools - I ended retiring in 2019. Retirement did not stop me from wanting to help students to improve, so I started tutoring in 2020. I loved working individually with students, helping them in understanding Algebra, Geometry, Spanish, or the tricks to improve their scores in standardized tests. I decided then to bring that love for learning and helping others to understand to tutoring.
My approach is simple: Easy, direct to the point theory and lots of practice. All seasoned with humor, personalized attention, and a genuine desire of seeing my student "getting it". If this style of instruction seems to be your style, feel free to contact me to set a free consultation session!
