I have extensive experience working with people of all ages and demographics, including graduate school, college, high school and middle school

Over my 30 year career as a teacher and tutor, I have developed tried and true techniques for learning vocabulary, and grammar, along with a 7 step translation strategy that transitions students from composed to authentic Latin.

Getting a Ph.D. requires excellent reading and writing skills, as well as a command of standard English conventions. This is exactly what the verbal ACT tests. For the past qo years, I have been helping students increase their verbal ACT scores, as well as prepare for the stress of high stakes testing.

Latin

I have been teaching and tutoring Latin to students of all ages and backgrounds for the past 30 years. Over my career, I have learned to hone complex material into bite-sized, digestible chunks. I believe 1:1 tutoring is the best way to achieve tangible results an I provide actionable strategies in each session. I have often found that my first session makes a material difference in comprehension, and increases both confidence and performance. I love both Latin language and literature, and I convey my passion to my students.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

As the sole Latin teacher in a public high school, I wrote many college recommendation letters for students I had all 4 years. For each student, I read and edited their common application personal statement. In retirement, I have worked with private students to craft exemplary college essays. All of my students have been accepted to their first choice schools.
