Hello! My name is Colleen, and I am excited to introduce myself to Wyzant. I graduated from Providence College with a BS in Biology, followed by earning my master's degree in Secondary Science Education from CUNY Lehman. Additionally, I hold an advanced certificate in Education Leadership from Stony Brook University.
For twelve years, I taught high school biology and various science electives, fostering a deep passion for education and student success. I later transitioned to the role of high school assistant principal, where I continue to support students and educators. To maintain a strong connection with students and the classroom experience, I tutor privately and provide home instruction to homebound students. This school year, I am teaching a Living Environment Regents prep course and an Environmental Science elective to students in our alternative high school.
I am committed to professional learning and staying current with best practices in education. I am enthusiastic about working with students to help them build confidence and a thorough understanding of biology concepts.
