Hi, I'm Lexie! I graduated from Pomona College with a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies, a dual minor in Spanish and Linguistics, and a 3.81 GPA overall. I owe my own academic success in no small part to the intervention of tutors during my elementary school years and the patience of middle & high school teachers who were willing to break down tricky concepts in ways that were both comprehensible and exciting.

I've been tutoring for 10 years, working 1:1 with students on subjects ranging from 1st Grade Math, to 4th Grade Spanish, to 10th Grade Test Prep & Vocabulary. I also have 5 years' worth of as a classroom teacher in private prep schools in the NYC metropolitan area. I am currently accepting new clients for SAT Reading and Writing prep, assistance with college application essays, reading comprehension & composition (all grades), Spanish (all levels), and Math (gr. K-6th). I am also able to provide enrichment in a variety of less-common subjects (i.e., Philosophy, Gameplay, Study Skills, Creative Writing, Linguistics, etc.).

I bring a positive, energetic attitude to all of my tutoring engagements, and I've been told I have a particular knack for motivating struggling students by using their strengths and interests as entry points. Some of my favorite clients have been those who were initially reluctant; that said, I am always thrilled when presented with the opportunity to work with self-motivated students who are looking to go further in their studies.
