Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Nicholas, and I am a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing. I bring over 10 years of combined clinical and academic experience working with undergraduate nursing students and pre-licensure RN candidates. Throughout my career, I have supported students in both structured academic settings and individualized tutoring sessions, helping them successfully navigate rigorous nursing coursework and high-stakes examinations.
My teaching experience includes working one-on-one with nursing students, leading small group remediation sessions of averagely 8 students, and facilitating structured review sessions for courses such as Fundamentals of Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, and Health Assessment. I have also guided students preparing for ATI, HESI, and NCLEX examinations. Many of the learners I work with are capable and motivated but struggle with clinical reasoning, prioritization, and breaking down application-based exam questions. I specialize in strengthening these skills by teaching students how to systematically analyze scenarios, identify safety concerns, and apply evidence-based decision-making frameworks.
My tutoring approach is structured yet adaptable. I begin by assessing a student’s current understanding, identifying knowledge gaps, and setting measurable goals. Sessions typically include concept clarification, guided practice with case-based questions, and step-by-step breakdowns of exam-style questions. I emphasize critical thinking models such as ABC prioritization, patient safety principles, and clinical judgment frameworks to help students develop confidence and independence. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students think and perform like competent, safe nurses.
