Besides my academics, I have experience working with children and other students. I was a peer tutor in high school, tutoring other high school students in Earth Science, Geometry and Italian. I helped them understand the curriculum and how to answer types of questions to do well on exams. Additionally, I worked at “Mindnasium” which is a play and learning center for children. I had the pleasure of working with children, and helping them learn and grow, while maintaining a safe and encouraging environment. I facilitated activities and worked on communicating skills with them. I also had the pleasure of babysitting three young girls, two toddlers and a baby, and helped them practice their reading, speaking, and other skills. Working with children and helping other people are things I truly love doing, which is why I plan to go into the pediatric field after medical school. It’s something I’m strongly passionate about and hope to continue for the rest of my life.
