I'm Mark and I have been studying martial arts since I was a child. My dad introduced me to boxing and various forms of karate at the age of 5; and Tae Kwon Do during my middle school years. However, I found my true passion in grappling martial arts. After wrestling in HS and for Cortland State College, I began simultaneously studying judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I am an experienced practitioner who currently holds 4th degree black belts in both disciplines. I have earned international titles in judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling and submission grappling; and I am a Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductee.
I don't just teach martial arts, I teach martial arts with purpose. My job isn't to simply instruct; it's to help students believe in themselves and realize their potential. I have been teaching and coaching judo and BJJ for over 20 years. My judo rank is certified by USA Judo, USJF, IJF and Kodokan judo headquarters in Japan. My Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu rank is certified by the IBJJF, Joe Moreira International and Kioto BJJ in Brazil. My students have achieved local, state, national and world titles.
I want my students to benefit as much as possible from their training. Tutoring is conducted in a safe and clean environment. I am Safe Sport certified and have updated background checks on file with USA Judo and the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF).
