Guitar Instructor Specialized in Rock and Metal Styles

I'm Elijah! I am a guitar instructor from Batavia, NY. I am currently enrolled in the Eastman Community Music School, where I am studying Jazz with Professor Bob Sneider. I am a student of the music, with experience in styles such as Funk, Rock, Metal, Punk, and Jazz. I believe that keeping an open mind to all musical genres is the best way to become the best musician you can be. I am currently performing with Rochester, NY bands "Inches of Mercury" and
"Controversy" where I perform a backlog of hit songs across all genres.

While I'm able to teach and play all styles, my specialty is definitely Rock and Metal. This is what I'm most confident on. In our lessons together, we can explore technical concepts such as Alternate Picking, Sweep Picking, Hybrid Picking, Legato, Tapping, Bending, Vibrato, and building your overall speed on the guitar. We can also be explore more musical concepts such as Improvisation, Soloing, Chords, Music Theory, Reading Sheet Music, and Fretboard Visualization. And if you're a vocalist, I can give you instruction on how to sing and play the guitar at the same time.

While I am relatively new to teaching, I can promise to give you a teaching experience on par to a professional musician. I have a planned curriculum of important concepts that all guitarists and musicians should know, which will give you a better understanding of the guitar and music in general.
