I hold an MS in Teaching from Pace University, an MSc in Education Futures from the University of Edinburgh, and a BA in History from Harvard University. With eighteen years of experience as a K-8 classroom teacher, literacy intervention specialist, instructional coach, and principal, I have a proven track record of accelerating student achievement—including students gaining 0.75 years of growth after just one six-week intervention cycle.

I am trained in Orton-Gillingham methods (Fundations, Wilson Reading System), the Hochman Method for writing instruction, as well as general ELA and social studies/history instructional methods. My expertise spans phonics intervention, writing mechanics, test preparation, and making history come alive through historical fiction and storytelling. I believe in joyful, rigorous learning that meets every student where they are and uses games and activities to keep motivation high.

In addition to my wide range of experience teaching reading, humanities, and STEM, I also have specialized training in reading intervention techniques. The Orton-Gillingham approach is widely acknowledged to be an effective method for supporting students with Dyslexia in becoming strong readers. Further, I have 18 years experience supporting students with learning differences in both whole-class, small group, and one-on-one sessions, including many students with Dyslexia.
