Grad Student (Judaic studies) and Homeschool Mom

I graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Judaic studies from SUNY at Buffalo. I am currently enrolled in a master's program with the Academy for Jewish Religion (virtual program from NYC). I have been reading Hebrew since childhood, and have been studying modern Hebrew throughout my undergraduate and graduate education. I have been homeschooling my own children since 2009 and have taught them to read Hebrew along with their usual studies. I briefly tutored kids in my previous synagogue in Hebrew reading as well. I would love to help any child or adult who is interested in starting out!

I also have been baking and cooking from scratch since 1995. I have worked in bakeries and fast food restaurants, and owned my own bakery-cafe, where I was privileged to serve a variety of homemade meals, including an array of desserts. I completed the full series of Wilton's basic cake decorating course, but more than that I emphasize whole foods and excellent flavor. In our homeschooling co-op, I taught middle- and high-school students how to cook and bake for their families. I truly enjoyed showing them how talented they are! I would love to show you, too!

I consider myself a Jack-of-all-Trades. Besides the above specializations, I have worked as a CNA in long-term care, post-surgical care, and hospice. I have sung in choirs since 1995 and had the privilege of performing in Carnegie Hall and many other venues. I am a dog lover, pug owner of 20 years, and dog-sitter. I have worked in customer service, food service, factories, as an Instacart shopper, and as a natural childbirth instructor. Nice to meet you!
