I am keeping this teaching / tutoring activity on the side because it allows my brain to function at the full capacity. Through various interesting projects generated by my clients, I keep my knowledge up-to-date in non-trivial areas of optimization, stochastic processes, statistics, machine learning, finance and insurance modeling. I also enjoy teaching. That’s somewhat different. That’s more about communication skills and ability to phrase concepts in the language of intuitive images. I am constantly working with students of all levels: from high school pupils to academics in various non-quantitative fields. Teaching / tutoring occupies a noticeable segment of my monthly schedule.
I have a PhD in Statistics and a Master’s in Finance from the University of Chicago. I taught at the U of Chicago as an assistant and then, after graduation, I tutored / consulted for more than ten years. All levels. Clients from different fields (many regular students, many medical people, many social scientists... finance professionals, of course). Modern quantitative work is impossible without proper programming. I am proficient in R (RStudio shell), Matlab, SPSS + AMOS, Stata, EViews, Python, JMP, Minitab and SAS.
I am here to help with a broad spectrum of objectives. You may have a specific project in mind, or you may need a flexible, open-ended coaching in a specific area.
