Hi! I'm a Stanford graduate who's quickly risen the New York City private tutoring ranks in the past six years, catering to some of the most elite students in the country. As a full-time private test prep, math, and writing tutor for middle and high schoolers, I've accumulated over eight thousand hours of one-on-one test prep and coursework tutoring, equipping me with a deep familiarity with the strengths and weaknesses of private and public school curriculums. Working on an assortment of subjects with students from different backgrounds has also given me the tools to supplement their coursework with material that challenges them to expand their learning.

A master tutor, I'm one of the most sought after tutors at my company, consistently bringing in among the highest number of referrals. My students average in the top quartile of ACT and SAT test score improvement. In addition to college test prep, I frequently work with students on application essay writing, coursework, common core, PSAT, ISEE, SSAT, HSPT, ERB, SHSAT, COOP, TACHS, Regis, Hunter College High School Test, SAT II Math, and SAT II Physics.

I am also a full time MS Math teacher (CMP3 curriculum), but I tutor all math subjects from 2nd grade through college, including algebra, trig, precalculus, Calculus AB, BC, and college level Statistics.

At Stanford, I majored in Symbolic Systems (BS) - an investigation of symbolic representations used in areas such as psychology, linguistics, computer science, and philosophy. My concentration of Decision Making & Rationality is concerned with mathematical applications in these areas. As a Symbolic Systems advisor, I offered tutoring help and course selection guidance in my office hours, organized and ran meetings and events, and declared new majors. I also completed minors in Creative Writing (fiction) and Mathematics. My varied academic background and experience has provided me with the experience necessary to attack any problem from a variety of different perspectives.

As a former math minor and a tutor who works heavily with students on not only test prep but also math coursework, I enjoy the challenge of trying a variety of different solutions to a problem to find the one that best suits a student's preferences. Nothing is more rewarding than that "aha" moment, when a topic is finally explained in a way that clicks. Especially on the SAT, where speed and correctness should be prioritized over more traditionally enforced math habits, handy tricks like eliminating answers or looking for pythagorean triple shortcuts are your best friend.

I have logged over 200 hours of 1-on-1 college application consulting with students who have gone on to attend schools including Princeton, Harvard, Brown, UPenn, Cornell, Dartmouth, Stanford, Columbia, Washington University in St. Louis, Swarthmore, Emory, Wellesley, and Vanderbilt. This experience, as well as his time as an ACT/SAT tutor, has provided me with extensive knowledge of the admissions landscape, allowing me to advise a wide variety of competitive college candidates seeking admission at both private and public institutions. My work in academia (A+ average in Stanford writing courses), as a creative writing minor, and as a published writer have given me the storytelling and editing skills to help mold a well-rounded college application with essays that help the applicant’s personality pop.
