Greetings! Looking forward to meeting you! My name is Andrew--I’m a certified educator, attorney, and instructional leader with over a decade of experience helping students thrive academically and grow as confident, independent learners. My work in New York City public schools has included teaching high school students in Social Studies, ELA, and ENL (English as a New Language), coordinating 504 plans, and leading testing and MTSS initiatives to support diverse learning needs. I’ve coached both general and special education teachers, supported tiered interventions, and facilitated professional development focused on equity, literacy, and student-centered instruction. My teaching draws on my legal training, encouraging critical thinking, persuasive writing, and clear, structured communication: skills that benefit students across subjects and grade levels.
As a tutor, I bring patience, adaptability, and a commitment to understanding each student’s learning style. Whether preparing for Regents, AP, or standardized tests, or building foundational skills in reading, writing, or English language acquisition, I meet students where they are and help them set achievable goals. I’ve worked with a wide range of learners--from multilingual students and those with IEPs or 504s, to high-achieving students seeking enrichment. I tailor lessons accordingly. Above all, I strive to create a warm, encouraging learning environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and build the confidence they need to succeed both in and beyond the classroom.
