I am a professional English and writing tutor, and have been a tutor for many different organizations, with over 10 years of experience. I also taught advanced composition and film courses at the University of Florida, while earning my PhD in English composition. The most important part about tutoring is ensuring that the student is learning in the tutoring process; I have a process over product focus. That said, the documents students create and bring to tutoring will only become stronger and stronger the more a student works with me, so you'll see great positive change in both your ability to compose as well as the results of your work (whether that be grades, scores, or otherwise).

As a teacher at the University of Florida, I received very high scores on my student evaluations. I believed it was important to develop a positive and engaging relationship with students to help them want to come to the classroom and enjoy what they might learn there from inventive and creative course lessons. Many of my colleagues asked to borrow some of my creative lesson plans to use with their students. As a result of the dedication and passion I took to my work as an educator, I won a University of Florida award for Outstanding Teaching Performance in 2021.

Outside of my work as an academic and educator, I've also worked as an Editor in a number of professional organizations. I edited academic articles and book reviews as the Managing Editor of a journal over the course of four years. I also worked as an Executive Editor in the corporate marketing space for three years. I know what constitutes good writing in just about every type of context--academic, professional, or otherwise--and I'm an excellent teacher.
