Hello! My name is Elizabeth. My love for tutoring comes from the many teachers in high school who inspired me and helped me advance academically. I'm excited to get to know you and your student! Here's a bit more information about me and my qualifications.

My educational background includes graduating Winter Park High School with honors and the senior award in English. This included earning the highest marks on my AP Language Arts and AP English Literature exams possible. I've earned my AA from Eastern Florida State College and I have graduated with my BA in Public Policy from New College of Florida after completing my thesis. My university experience qualifies me to tutor in my listed subject matters due to extensive coursework in areas related to US Government, Public Policy, Economics, and other classes in English language and literature.

Over the past three years, I have tutored students in the subjects of English, American History, and US Civics. This includes tutoring students with classwork, test prep, and creating unique lesson plans for students from scratch. I have generally tutored students in a private capacity and often online. I have also worked as a substitute teacher and substitute teacher's aide in Orange County classrooms. This generally involved helping students one-on-one - particularly students with special needs - with assignments in a variety of subjects. I generally tutor students in grades 6-12. I find that as a younger teacher, I'm better able to engage and motivate adolescent learners. My tutoring style is very discussion-based and focuses on engaging the student in problem-solving as much as possible to ensure that the student fully understands the material. This type of interaction is often what students lack in their day-to-day schooling.

I do my absolute best to communicate outside of tutoring hours as fast as possible. If you have any questions for me or would like to book a session for tutoring don't hesitate to reach out!
