Hi, I'm Danisha! I am an experienced academic tutor with over 10 years of private tutoring experience, supporting students across grades K–12, and also college level, in both one-on-one and small-group settings. I specialize in foundational skill building, homework support, study skills, and confidence development, with particular experience working with elementary and middle school students (K–8).

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, which strengthened my analytical thinking, organization, and ability to break down complex material into clear, manageable steps. My academic background, combined with hands-on tutoring experience, allows me to support students in math, reading, and writing, as well as Regents exam preparation at the middle and high school level.

Throughout my tutoring career, I have worked with students of varying learning styles and academic needs, including students who require extra structure, encouragement, or support with organization and time management. Much of my experience has been in private, one-on-one tutoring, where I develop individualized learning plans tailored to each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals. I have also supported students in test preparation settings, helping them review content, practice strategies, and build confidence ahead of exams.

My approach is patient, supportive, and structured. I focus on helping students understand how they learn, not just what they are learning. Sessions often include guided practice, skill reinforcement, and strategies students can use independently between sessions. I prioritize clear communication with families and measurable progress for students.

I am passionate about helping students feel capable and confident in their abilities. My goal is not only academic improvement, but also helping students develop skills that will support them long-term in school and beyond.
