I graduated summa cum laude from Baruch with a degree in Artificial Intelligence Studies with a focus on Computer Ethics, which naturally extended itself into an MA in Digital Humanities, earned from the CUNY Graduate Center. My specialty was Digital Pedagogy, rendering me uniquely qualified to tutor online and create educational materials and resources for learners.

My pedagogical philosophy revolves around anticipating the needs of learners and customizing lessons for each individual student. I envision myself as a mentor in learning - someone who has a student's future in mind when designing lesson plans as well as their immediate learning needs. Tutoring, for me, is about creating a foundation for long-term success.

I aim to create and foster a safe space for learning about reading, writing, editing, revision, and vocabulary. I am patient, understanding, and willing to learn from my students, who I consider co-authors of knowledge. I look forward to helping you learn.

I have taught reading comprehension for several years. In graduate school, I completed my capstone by creating an Open Educational Resource (OER) on ekphrasis, a genre of literature characterized by drawing its inspiration from other works of art. As a poet and author, I am uniquely qualified to teach students about reading works of literature or other texts they may encounter. I believe in equipping students with a strong foundation in reading comprehension and critical analysis of textual evidence.

I have taught vocabulary to students for several years. I believe a strong vocabulary is the foundation for unlocking a student's potential to articulate their thoughts, debate with confidence, write well, and read critically. I use several pivotal texts for vocabulary, and particularly recommend Barron's "1100 Words You Need to Know."
