Bio

I am a recent SUNY Oneonta graduate with a degree in physics and environmental sustainability, and I currently teach math and science at a Connecticut school. I am a recent SUNY Oneonta graduate with a degree in physics and environmental sustainability, and I currently teach math and science at a Connecticut school. During my time at Oneonta, I endeavored in many different areas of research, teaching, and coding. My focus areas of research have been three research projects in astronomy. Two projects consisted of observational data taking, analysis, publications, and presentations of exoplanet and Supernovae data from 2022 to 2024. Recently I was hired to do research with the James Webb Space Telescope in search of new Supernovae.

I taught an astronomy summer camp to middle and high school students. In addition to this, I also volunteered to teach astronomy to the 4-H Youth program in upstate New York. I have been tutoring students at SUNY Oneonta for almost four years, and at Tutorax for over one year. Typically, I like to run sessions however the student prefers. If the student is simply seeking help for the current topic- I provide homework help, a step by step analysis of the methods used to solve the questions, and I can provide extra practice if needed. For many students, they often express that a review of older material is needed, more often than not a review of older materials is done alongside the current material you may be learning. I am also very found of giving the student a chance to try a question on their own during the session. This allows the student to ask questions as they are actively trying to solve the question.

Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Astronomy, and I teach math, astronomy, and environmental science, and test prep for 6th-12th graders at a school in Stamford CT.

Josh is a great tutor

Josh has helped our 16 year old daughter with AP environmental science. She’s been with him for six sessions so far and felt comfortable with him since day one because he’s patient , explains in detail and makes her accountable. He’s also been flexible with his time and always communicates quickly so we can plan accordingly.
