Biochemistry

I hold an undergraduate degree in biochemistry. Since then, and through practically all of my training, there has been a biochemistry component to my work and research. In addition to my Biochemistry Bachelor's degree, I have a Master's and a Ph.D. in the bio organic chemistry area, which included a lot of work in biochemistry as well.

Biology

During the course of my schooling, from my bachelor's in biochemistry, through my Ph.D. in Bioorganic chemistry, I have always had a focus on the biological world in my work. From the bacterial scale, to the mammalian, and all points in between, I have researched and covered many biological topics and utilized many laboratory techniques. These include topics in histology, microbiology (bacteriology), protein and DNA work, and biosynthetic topics.

Chemistry

I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biochemistry, as well as a Master's and Ph.D. in organic and bioorganic chemistry. I have tutoring and teaching experience in the chemistry field. I also have postdoctoral experience at Harvard University. Some of my time there was spent instructing undergraduate chemistry students.

Organic Chemistry

I am qualified to tutor organic chemistry because I have extensive teaching, tutoring and publication experience in this subject. As a Pace University undergraduate, I held recitation periods for General and Organic Chemistry. While at The Johns Hopkins University, I taught Organic Chemistry and also tutored bioorganic chemistry for physics graduate students. My time at Harvard was spent working in a laboratory setting and teaching undergraduate students. My educational experience in the Organic Chemistry field is as follows: BS degree from Pace University, MA/Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University and Harvard Medical School.

Pharmacology

I recently received a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology. My studies towards my Ph.D. degree have focused on understanding how drugs interact with specific molecular targets (e.g., receptors, enzymes, ion channels) within cells to produce therapeutic or adverse effects. I have an understanding of the principles of molecular biology, biochemistry, and medicinal chemistry/pharmacology which explore drug mechanisms, signaling pathways, and cellular responses.
