Hi all!
My name is Lauren. I have a B.S. degree in Human Development from Cornell University, and I am currently attending the University at Buffalo to earn my Master's degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education. My teaching experience includes working as a K-12 substitute teacher, teaching reading to K-6 students in a summer school program, and teaching math at the SUNY Alfred summer preparatory academy for incoming college freshmen. I have also worked multiple summers at a Montessori school summer program.
For general tutoring, I would like to work with students in grades K-9. However, I am also open to tutoring for the SAT (my scores: 800 math, 790 English). I believe that individualized tutoring is a fantastic way to help students grow and meet their academic potential. As a tutor, I begin by assessing each student's individual needs to understand their strengths, challenges, and specific learning goals. This initial evaluation allows subsequent sessions to be more efficient and effective. During these sessions, I systematically address the identified needs through structured lessons, personalized practice, and ongoing feedback. My goal is to help your student truly understand the material so that they will be able to transfer their learning to new situations and other academic areas.
