Hi, I'm Ishani! I recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Statistics with latin honors from Cornell University and am currently enrolled in a graduate program in Statistics. I have experience tutoring one-on-one with introductory undergraduate courses and scored an 800M on the SAT.
I was a TA and peer tutor for calculus-based physics as well as a peer tutor for statistics with R, both for a year. I also volunteered office hours, which gave me more time to work through problems with students one-on-one. I took a course in teaching STEM topics at all levels, which offered guidance on how to best prepare students for independent learning and how to keep students encouraged after getting low grades (we've all been there!). I try to help students find gaps in their understanding and prompt them with questions to build problem-solving skills. This is also a great way to practice active recall i.e. what we do on exams! I have flexible hours and am more than willing to help in any way I can, including working with provided materials and reviewing past concepts.
