Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is extremely important for students because it provides a needed credit for high school graduation. Algebra 1 was my first paid tutoring job. I was a senior in high school and was hired by my gym teacher to tutor her daughter, a freshman. Out of the hundreds of students I've tutored over 23 years, more than half have been for Algebra 1. It is very important that an Algebra 1 tutor approach most problems in 3 ways for best understanding, the way common core intended the math to be taught - graphically, algebraic w/equations, and arithmetic w/patterns. I always keeps this in mind when tutoring Algebra 1. I am an expert with the NYS Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 Regents exams.

Algebra 2 often has multiple step problems. Let me list out each step clearly like I'm your personal textbook. Then I will carefully work through each problem. I love explaining Algebra 2, especially the trigonometry and working with polynomials. I can teach the math in multiple ways and explain topics simply using step-by-step procedure. I am an expert at using the TI graphing calculators.

For tutoring Geometry, I specialize in vocabulary retention and understanding, perfect for students with adhd and dyscalculia. I also specialize in logic proofs. I am an IXL certified tutor, which allows me access to unlimited practice examples for every Geometry topic.
