Hello! My name is Kaitlyn and I am excited to work with you as your next tutor! Here is a little bit of information about me. I received my undergraduate degree in both Mathematics and Education. I went on to obtain my Master's Degree in Special Education. I currently work as a Mathematics/Special Education teacher. Through this position I have taught several different courses such as Algebra 1A, Algebra 1B, Pre-Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and Contemporary Mathematics. In addition to these topics, I have supported students taking Algebra 2, Geometry, and Math 8. I am very familiar with the Common Core and Next Generation Learning Standards, and the NYS Regents Exams.
In addition to teaching, I have several years of experience tutoring. I have tutored students in Math 7, Math 8, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and SAT Math. I have also taught the SAT Math prep course at my school for many years. I have experience tutoring both virtually and in-person. When I tutor virtually, I typically use Google Meet as my video conferencing platform. I also use a SMART Notebook program when tutoring virtually, which allows me to visually demonstrate concepts to my students. I look forward to working together!
