Helpful tutor for all ages

Hi, I’m Jennifer! I'm an economics major at the University of Miami graduating December 2026. I am currently employed by the University of Miami as an economics tutor. The classes I tutor in are Principles of Microeconomics, Microeconomic Theory, and Macroeconomic Theory. I help college students enrolled in these courses prepare for exams and review concepts. I also answer questions they may have about the material. I am a good listener and will try my best to really understand where the student may be confused and explain the concepts in a way that will make sense to the particular student.

I have experience privately tutoring elementary and high school students over Zoom in math. Over a couple months of working with a 9th-grade student in pre-AP geometry, I helped her bring her course grade from a low B to an A. When tutoring in math, I like to use plenty of real-world examples so students can connect with what they’re learning. I also like to ask questions to clarify the student’s thought process and then provide personalized advice. I want learning to be an enjoyable experience.

Additionally, in high school, I was a peer consultant at the writing center. I provided one-on-one guidance to peers working on writing assignments and personal essays. On the SAT, I scored 780 on the reading and writing section and 750 on the math section. Outside of tutoring, I have experience working with children ages 6-12 as a babysitter and a summer camp counselor. I am kind, patient, and understanding.
