This includes supervising apprentices, mentoring new hires, and coaching individuals for higher level positions. I have worked with persons from high school to the post graduate level. I have tutored undergraduate and graduate students in the History of Economic Thought, Heterodox Economics, Keynesian Economics and Macro-Economics.
My published writing covers two areas: Europe during the revolutionary wave of the late 19th and early 20th century and modern to contemporary US History, current events and history of ideas. I can be of assistance working on a research paper, editing content and style, placing events in context, and drawing out the contemporary relevance of an historical period or event. My professional career as a high level program manager is a direct outgrowth of my studies. I assist business organizations in change management and institutional reorganization.
I am an "institutional economist". This is someone who studies political economy through the lens of the development of social institutions--as opposed to the more familiar "value theory" taught in many departments. In addition to History I can assist with macro-economic concepts. .
The historian is above all else a skilled researcher who has the ability to discern patterns and relevance in the information, data and evidence one gathers from the study of the past. I can help a student to learn to think like a historian and an institutionalist.
