Hi! My name is Angelle, I have graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Healthcare Management, having been on the President's List during all semesters of my college years. I am currently in my 2nd year of medical school. I have had experience tutoring students for about 3 years now at various age levels from elementary up to college students in different subjects. I really enjoy the process of engaging with students and having discussions through my lesson plans. As a tutor, I feel that the most important thing is to connect with the student to be able to get the material across in the most comprehensible way. Having a good conversation can really pave the way for a great lesson!

As mentioned before, I have had much experience with tutoring, including Math, English, Reading/Writing, Science and Science Writing. I have worked with students one-on-one, as well as in groups of 5-7 students. My philosophy with teaching includes making students feel included in the teaching process, such as involving them in the problem solving process. I feel that this is the best way for students to learn the material adequately. Plus, I believe that staggered repetition and recitation helps with allowing the information to stick properly. I always take my time going through student's work/writing so I am able to provide as much feedback as possible. As a student myself, I found it extremely helpful when I was provided with different study tips (such as the use of mnemonics), critiques on my work, and working at a pace that was comfortable for me. I take this approach when tutoring others, as I feel that it is a very useful and efficient strategy when learning and building upon a subject.
