Growing Up in Japan
From the moment I opened my eyes to the world, I was immersed in the vibrant tapestry of Japan. The bustling streets of Kobe, the delicate cherry blossoms in spring, and the ancient temples of Kyoto—all became the backdrop of my childhood. As a child growing up in this culturally rich land, I absorbed not only the language but also the essence of Japanese life. Each syllable carried with it centuries of tradition, and every gesture spoke of honor and respect.

Academic Odyssey
My academic journey led me to California State University Fresno, where I embarked on a quest for knowledge. The Liberal Studies Degree program allowed me to explore a myriad of subjects—science, literature, philosophy, and more. Yet, my heart always gravitated toward history. History was not a mere chronicle of events; it was the heartbeat of humanity. It was the rise and fall of empires, the courage of revolutionaries, and the quiet heroism of ordinary people. I devoured historical texts, seeking patterns, connections, and the whispers of destiny.

Teaching with Heart
As an aspiring historian, I knew that history needed a new voice. Too often, it was taught in monotone lectures, draining the life out of its vibrant tales. But it needn’t be so. History was an adventure waiting to unfold—a journey through time that ignited curiosity and sparked debates. As a guide, I promised a different approach. I would strip away the intimidating armor of dates and battles, revealing the beating heart beneath. History was not a burden; it was a gift waiting to be unwrapped.
