Hello! My name is Alissa, and I am a licensed elementary teacher, adjunct college instructor, and private tutor with experience working with students from elementary school through college. I currently teach 4th grade full-time and have spent my career helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and achieve meaningful academic growth. In addition to my classroom teaching experience, I have taught college business courses since 2019 and have worked one-on-one with students in both academic and enrichment settings.
My educational background includes a Master of Education degree and a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership. I specialize in reading, writing, mathematics, science, study skills, and academic organization. I also support older students with academic writing, APA formatting, time management, and college success strategies. Because I work with learners across multiple age groups, I understand that every student learns differently. My approach focuses on identifying individual strengths, addressing learning gaps, and creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks.
As a classroom teacher, I regularly analyze student performance data, develop individualized learning plans, and help students reach ambitious growth goals. Whether a student needs extra support, enrichment opportunities, homework assistance, or help building confidence in a particular subject, my goal is to provide instruction that is engaging, personalized, and effective. I believe that learning should be challenging, encouraging, and empowering, and I look forward to helping students achieve their academic goals.
