Bio

In addition to my tutoring experience with Wyzant, I have over 10 years of in person tutoring experience. This includes helping students with their math studies from Elementary School through High School Calculus.

My education includes a BS in Math and a BS in Physics from the University of Texas. In addition, I have a Masters in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.

In addition to my tutoring experience with Wyzant, I have over 10 years of in person tutoring experience. This includes helping students with their math studies from Elementary School through High School Calculus.

My education includes a BS in Math and a BS in Physics from the University of Texas. In addition, I have a Masters in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.

Tutoring experience includes Elementary School Math, Middle School Math, GED prep, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, SAT preparation, and ACT Math.

In addition to tutoring experience, I have instructor experience in a classroom setting. This experience includes teaching Electrical Engineering at the Navy's Nuclear Power School, SAT preparation classes and the Physics section for MCAT preparation classes.

ACT Math

The courses I took to get a BS in Math more than covered the topics you will see on the ACT. Previous students appreciated rapid improvement in both math knowledge and confidence in taking the test.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 was used daily during my studies for a BS in Math, BS Physics and Masters in Mechanical Engineering. Throughout the years of tutoring, the most frequent subject tutored has been Algebra. All of the students I have tutored have improved their understanding and grades.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I have tutored many Elementary School students over the years. I work with students on current course work and to ensure they have a solid math foundation for when they move on to Middle School and High School Math. Parents have told me about improvements in current grades and standardized test scores.
GED

GED

While working as a volunteer tutor for Greenville Literacy I helped many students get the points they needed in the Math section to complete the GED. Originally, I was trained and assisted people in learning to read. However, since I have a BS in Math they started asking me to assist students with GED math as well. Once they realized I could help students with any GED math topic, all the students tutored were Math students.
Geometry

My BS in Math included two additional courses in Geometry. Also, Physics and Mechanical Engineering degree courses required application of Geometry knowledge. All of the students I have tutored in Geometry have improved their understanding and grades.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra topics were used daily during my studies for a BS in Math, BS Physics and Masters in Mechanical Engineering. Throughout the years of tutoring, the most frequent subject tutored has been Algebra. All of the students I have tutored have improved their grades.
SAT Math

SAT Math

The courses I took to get my BS in Math more than covers the math knowledge needed for the SAT. My experience includes teaching/tutoring SAT prep for one of the nationally known test preparation companies, including the Math section. During that time, I worked with over 50 students. Every student that did the recommended studies improved their scores. A 200+ point improvement was not uncommon.
