I am a dedicated educator with a deep commitment to making complex STEM concepts accessible and engaging for every student. My academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Humboldt State University and a Master of Education from the University of Nevada, Reno. This advanced training has provided me with a sophisticated understanding of both subject matter and pedagogical strategy, allowing me to tailor my instruction to meet a wide range of learning needs. Currently, I serve as a middle school teacher in California, where I specialize in science and mathematics. Throughout my five years of professional teaching-which includes three years as a Physical Education instructor in Nevada and my current tenure in the science classroom-I have developed a teaching philosophy centered on inquiry-based and visual learning. In my math instruction, I frequently utilize the "Box Method" and other visual organizers to help students conceptualize operations that often feel abstract. I believe that students learn best when they can "see" the logic behind a problem. This approach has proven particularly effective in one-on-one tutoring sessions, where I have spent several years helping students bridge the gap between classroom lectures and true mastery of the material.
