Finding that "aha!" moment is the most rewarding part of education and has driven my thirteen years of dedicated tutoring and mentorship. With a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Biomedical Engineering and current doctoral research at USC, my approach is rooted in how science and math work in the real world. My experience includes research at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) focused on pancreatic and gut development. Whether navigating differential equations or mastering the ACT—a subject I taught at a private college prep company for ten years—my goal is to transform intimidating subjects into engaging puzzles. By breaking concepts into digestible steps, students of all learning styles can build a foundation of true understanding rather than rote memorization.
While specializing in math and science, my background is diverse, allowing me to support students in Latin, reading, writing, and more. This versatility, combined with excelling in coursework from Organic Chemistry to Linear Algebra and earning top scores on AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and ACT exams, gives me a clear understanding of the pressure students face. My methodology focuses on boosting confidence and has been refined through years of working one-on-one and in classrooms with learners aged 8 to 40. I also offer mentorship regarding research opportunities or career paths in STEM and medicine.
Currently, I provide high-quality online sessions that prioritize patience and adaptability. Learning should be empowering, even when the subject matter feels difficult. By fostering a supportive environment, I encourage students to ask questions and take the academic risks necessary for growth. The ultimate aim is to make learning fun while providing the empathy required for those who may be struggling. Whether the goal is to ace an exam, improve a test score, or master a challenging course, my focus remains on equipping every learner with the tools and confidence they need to succeed.
