Howdy! I have been teaching in some form since I began as a Madricha at my community's Hebrew school in 2016. Since then I have worked in k-12 math tutoring, college admissions test prep, and full time science education with second graders. Most of my experience is in small groups or one on one. My strategies vary with the student and subject, but I coach students through solving the problem while showing them that they already have the tools they need, filling gaps in understanding along the way. My goal is to build the problem solving skills students need to feel confident and self sufficient. If a student is excelling and seeking new challenges I also have practice developing curriculum to move to the next stage in their studies.
In May 2025 I completed my BA in Mathematics from UC Berkeley, alongside a BSc with honors in Conservation and Resource Studies. I have studied Spanish, Russian (Heritage speaker), Hebrew, and Urdu, and was a 2024 Critical Language Scholar for Urdu. I am passionate about teaching and know that as one must be a lifelong learner, one must also be a lifelong teacher! I look forward to helping you/your student grow.
