I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Arizona State University. Additionally, I have a Master's Degree in Mathematics from Western Governors University and a graduate certificate in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. My current teaching certifications are issued by the States of Nevada and Arizona.

I have nearly 24 years of professional experience in the field of Education. At least 18 of those years have been spent teaching middle and high school mathematics. I have taught integrated math courses and specific courses, such as Algebra 1 and 2, College Prep Mathematics, Geometry and several other courses. I prioritize creating a supportive and engaging learning environment to help students build confidence and excel in their studies.

I typically work with high school students but also spent several years teaching middle school math. As far as tutoring, I have worked with grades 5 - 12, as well as those enrolled in 100 and 200 college level math courses and/or GED prep. I have also spent several years within my current and previous school district supporting our ACT and test prep weekend sessions. My approach to tutoring varies depending on the age and skill level of the student but ranges from personalized learning plans, hands-on practice, fostering critical thinking and helping to improve a student's discourse ability.

I am certified to teach Secondary Math, but I currently work full time at a university. In my position, I mentor and coach undergraduate and graduate students seeking to become teachers of 5th-12th grade students. These students are enrolled in our science program--all of which require a passing score on Praxis Pre-professional exams, as well as content exam. I spent over 12 years teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry and College Math.
