Hello, my name is Erica! I am a PhD student in biochemistry at UNLV, and I am passionate about helping students build confidence and mastery in science and math. My academic path in biology and biochemistry has given me a strong foundation in complex scientific concepts, and my experience as a tutor has taught me how to make those concepts clear, accessible, and even enjoyable.

I have several years of experience tutoring students in K through 12 and early college in subjects such as biology, chemistry, math, and English. I focus on meeting each student exactly where they are and guiding them toward real understanding rather than memorization. I use visual aids, step by step reasoning, and lots of patience. One of my favorite moments in tutoring is when a student looks at a problem that once felt impossible and realizes they can solve it on their own.

My approach is collaborative and encouraging. I ask questions that help me understand how a student thinks, and I adjust my explanations until everything clicks. I believe that learning should feel empowering, and I work hard to create an environment where students feel comfortable speaking up, making mistakes, and celebrating progress.

I am easy to talk to, quick to respond, and fully invested in my students success. I welcome any feedback, resources, or goals from students or parents, and I am always happy to customize lessons to support individual needs.
