My name is Connie Beers. I have been teaching for 9 1/2 years in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was a casino craps dealer for 15 years. I quit dealing in 2002 and became a stay at home mom. In 2005, I decided to go back to college to get my Bachelor's degree. I received that in 2008 in English. I immediately began working on my Master's degree in Education, and received that in 2011. I've been teaching ever since. I am licensed to teach both English and Italian, although this past school year, I taught both Spanish and Italian at the high school level. This next school year, I will be teaching Spanish at the middle school level.
I have been tutoring for several different subjects for the past 12 or 13 years. I tutor Algebra, English grammar and literature, as well as writing, and both Spanish and Italian languages. I love tutoring and find it so fulfilling when I help students accomplish their academic goals.
I have studied Italian for the past 25 years. I've taken over 10 college classes in Italian at both the city college and university level. I have also studied in Florence, Italy and Perugia, Italy at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia. I have been tutoring Italian since 2010, and my students range from middle school to clients in their 60s. I am also licensed to teach Italian at the middle school and high school level.
Spanish was the language I learned in both high school and college when I was a teenager and into my 20s. I love the language, but once I visited Italy and fell in love with Italy, the Italian language and everything Italian, I gave up on my Spanish practice. However, last summer, I got a job teaching Spanish at the high school level, and I fell completely back in love with the language. This next school year, I will be teaching Spanish to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, preparing them for their Spanish classes at the high school level. I'm equally passionate about these two languages and love helping people master them, both in school and as a tutor.
