Hi, I'm Lena. I'm a 1–10 tutor in Las Vegas specializing in Reading/ELA and mathematics. I have experience tutoring from elementary arithmetic through Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and Statistics. I also enjoy tutoring in Reading, English/Language Arts, and Social Studies.

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst's Isenberg School of Management, where I graduated with a 3.85 GPA and earned Dean's List honors. I'm also a Certified ScrumMaster, with a decade of professional experience translating complex technical concepts into clear, accessible explanations; skills that carry directly into how I tutor.

I currently tutor four students concurrently across a wide grade range: a sibling group in 1st, 4th, and middle-school grades, plus a bilingual 3rd-grade student transitioning to English-language schooling. Every student has an individualized weekly session plan and formative assessments I write myself, calibrated to that student's specific learning gaps and the pace they need. With my younger students I focus on building strong number sense and fluency in arithmetic, fractions, and pre-algebra, while my ELA work emphasizes reading comprehension, vocabulary expansion, and writing mechanics. For older or more advanced students I work through algebra-to-calculus progressions, problem-solving strategies, and exam preparation.

My approach is patient, honest, and grounded in the belief that every student can master material when it's taught at the right pace and built on solid foundations. I don't push memorization where understanding belongs, and I communicate openly with parents about weekly progress and what we're working on. I'm available afternoons, evenings, and weekends, and happy to tutor in person, online, or hybrid depending on what fits your family best.
