I am currently a Biology major at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where I have developed a strong academic foundation in chemistry and biology through coursework such as general chemistry (CHEM 121) and molecular biology. These courses require both conceptual understanding and problem-solving, and I have gained experience working through topics like stoichiometry, chemical reactions, dimensional analysis, as well as biological concepts such as cell structure and function, DNA replication, gene expression, and basic metabolic pathways. Through my studies, I have learned how to approach complex scientific problems step by step and break them down into simpler concepts, which allows me to explain material in a way that is clear and practical for students.
In addition to my academic background, I have experience helping classmates and peers in one-on-one settings, particularly in chemistry and biology courses. I have worked with students at the high school and early college level, assisting with homework, exam preparation, and difficult concepts such as balancing chemical equations or understanding how genetic information is expressed within cells. For example, I guide students through multi-step problems by explaining each stage and checking for understanding before moving forward. My tutoring approach focuses on helping students understand why each step is taken, and I adjust my teaching style depending on the student’s needs—whether that means reviewing foundational concepts or working through practice problems in detail.
I primarily tutor middle school, high school, and early college students who need support in chemistry and biology. My goal is to help students build confidence in science, improve their problem-solving skills, and perform better on exams and assignments. I aim to create a supportive and comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and actively engage with the material.
