I hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics with a minor in Mathematics. My coursework included Calculus I–III, Differential Equations, and calculus-based Physics, giving me a strong foundation across core math subjects.
My teaching experience includes serving as a teaching assistant for an engineering calculus course at the college level, a year as a high school substitute teacher covering Algebra and Geometry, and one-on-one tutoring with high school students. I have worked with students from middle school through college in both classroom and individual settings. This includes working with students who need support in foundational skills such as fractions, proportions, word problems, and basic algebra.
I currently tutor middle school math (fractions, decimals, ratios, and percents), Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
My approach is focused on helping students understand the material rather than memorize steps. Most difficulties in math come from gaps in earlier material, so I focus on rebuilding those foundations first. I break concepts into manageable pieces and work through them step-by-step until they make sense. I’m patient with students who feel behind, and I focus on building consistency and confidence over time.
In addition to my academic background, I bring over 20 years of professional experience in engineering and federal service. This has strengthened my ability to analyze problems and explain them clearly.
Sessions are tailored to the student’s pace and goals, whether that’s catching up, improving grades, or preparing for exams.
