Experienced professor, tutor, and mentor

I am a seasoned, dynamic, enthusiastic educator with experience in a variety of subjects and with a diversity of students. I have a Bachelor's, Master's, and a Ph.D. degree in Psychology, and I have been a teaching professional at several institutions of higher education, including Centenary College of Louisiana and Xing Wei College in Shanghai, China. In those roles I taught a variety of courses, including many in Psychology, Biology, Communication, and in English Writing, among others. In those roles I also gained a great deal of experience in teaching students with a wide range of English-language abilities, including many international students who really needed a patient teacher, which I am.

I have also worked as a tutor for a number of years. I have tutored students from elementary age through college in a number subjects, including English Writing, Biology, and Mathematics. I am comfortable tutoring students with a wide range of learning styles and personalities. I treat all my students with respect and hold myself to the highest professional and ethical standards.

I also have a great deal of experience with homeschooling. My wife and I homeschooled our two sons for a portion of their educational journeys, and we have participated with other homeschooling families in educational cooperatives. One of our sons is on the autistic spectrum, and so I'd like to add that I have particular expertise in serving that population of learners and families who might need special support.

I am an easygoing, polite, and patient teacher who will help you reach your goals and, in many cases, will inspire you to go beyond what you thought you could accomplish!
