About Hunter

Bio

As someone who has been tutoring college physics with their university for over 2 years and has earned their B.S in Applied Physics as well as current enrollment in a M.S in Nuclear Engineering, I have seen my fair share of physics problems. I have loved science and physics for as long as I can remember. One of my extremely cheesy mottos I tell the people I tutor is, "my job is to get you to pass physics, but my goal is to get you to like physics". As a tutor I am very much more down to Earth...

As a tutor I am very much more down to Earth and honest in my teaching approaches. I am not a professor, and most students taking physics classes are not physics majors, so my goal is to explain the concepts, theories, and processes to make you successful in a physics class instead of trying to lecture at you about every single fundamental concept known to man. A former professor of mine once told me that math and physics are tools. I want to help you figure out how to use these tools, not how to make and understand them from scratch.

I have previously tutored K-12 in math and English, and have also tutored chemistry and mathematics at the college level going up to differential equations. Physics is my first love in life though and it is what I'm most comfortable and passionate about tutoring. I specifically specialize in introductory physics classes both algebra and calculus based. I will be the first to admit that I am not a lexicon of physics equations and topics, but physics is not about memorizing it's about applying and my goal is to teach the proper application of physics concepts so that anyone can you excell in their class.

I am happy to help with explaining topics, aiding in homework, or even giving entire lectures with practice problems thrown in. Don't worry if you're never taken a physics class before, or if you think you terrible at math. I promise you that I both have infinite patience, and am more than happy to help fill any holes you may have to catch you up. We can do this!

Physics

I have studied physics academically for 8 years now and have tutored university level physics for 3. I am currently on track to become a physics instructor at the college level and have enjoyed helping others to take complex and sometimes overwhelming topics and turn them into simple and easy to understand ideas. I specialize in nuclear physics, but as a tutor I am most proficient in covering intro courses in mechanics and electro-magnetism for both algebra based and calculus based classes.
