Friendly NYU Math Tutor for Middle School & High School Students

I am an undergraduate student at New York University with a strong academic background and a solid foundation in mathematics. I completed advanced high school–level coursework, including AP Calculus and AP English Literature, and have continued to use these skills in college. I also participated in Speech and Debate Original Oratory and Congressional Debate and won the Mock Presidential Debate at NYU. This background allows me to confidently tutor middle school and high school students in subjects such as algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, English, writing, grammar, speech, debate, and test prep. I also have extensive experience working with Canva to create presentations and digital media. As a current college student, I understand both the academic expectations students face and the challenges that can make math feel overwhelming or intimidating.

I have experience tutoring at Kumon as well as helping peers and younger students with math through one-on-one support, homework help, and exam preparation. My tutoring style focuses on breaking down problems step by step, identifying where confusion begins, and helping students build a clear understanding of the underlying concepts rather than relying on memorization. I am patient, encouraging, and adapt my explanations to match each student’s learning style so they can gain confidence alongside skill.

I especially enjoy working with students who may feel anxious or discouraged by math. I strive to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Whether a student needs ongoing tutoring, help preparing for a quiz or exam, or a short-term review to strengthen specific topics, I aim to help them feel more confident and capable in their math abilities.
