First of all, I love teaching and enjoy working with students. I am a 7th generation military member. I served 30 years in the Air Force. First of all, I love teaching and enjoy working with students. I am a 7th generation military member. I served 30 years in the Air Force. I have had 19 separate assignments and was privileged to work as an Aide to a 3 Star General; as a Space Shuttle Flight Controller in NASA/Mission Control; and as an Intern on the National Security Council in the White House. I graduated from the University of Florida, the Air Force Institute of Technology, the Air Command and Staff College, and the Naval War College. I have taught a variety of subjects (math, leadership, customer service, national security studies, emergency management, and more) at a number of different universities. I truly enjoy helping students (young and old) gain an understanding of the subjects, which I teach. I am always available to my students (past and current) to provide advice and assistance. I have been certified by multiple organizations in a wide variety of subjects. I want to note that I have a son with severe ADHD; have worked with the IEP Program for 12 years; and understand the Americans with Disabilities Act.
My ultimate goal is to help students improve their math skills and become successful in school and in life. I am a patient and thoughtful instructor, who believes that every student is important and I will take as much time as required to help my students gain understanding of difficult problems.

I was given an AFROTC scholarship and selected to attend multiple high profile military post-graduate colleges and universities (Air Command & Staff College; AF Institute of Technology; and the Naval War College) during my career. I was also an exchange instructor at the US Army War College.

I have been fortunate to have visited all 50 states in the US. I love history and have been fortunate enough to work in the "Washington, DC Arena" for 15 years. I have a Master's Degree in National Security Studies and have worked as a Gettysburg Tour Guide. I have visited and lectured on many Revolutionary and Civil War Battlefields and have studied our country's origins and evolution since the original Jamestown Settlement.

I am a 7th generation military member. Both of my parents were enlisted members of the military, as were the 6 generations of our family before them. We have proudly served our Nation since the Revolutionary War. I have had 19 separate assignments and served in a wide variety of challenging jobs (e.g., Orbital Analyst in Cheyenne Mountain, CO; Space Shuttle Flight Controller at NASA/Johnson Space Center; and Aide to a 3 Star General). I love to work with young people wishing to serve our Nation in uniform. I am friendly and patient.

I have been a student of the Bible since my youth. I have studied Judaism and Christianity extensively. I am familiar with the Muslim religion and have lived in a Muslim country. I have taken courses on the Bible and Religion at the Graduate level and spent a year in the Tigris River Region of the Middle East, which is reputed to be the site of the Garden of Eden. I have gained an appreciation of all religions through my readings and the Bible courses I have taken.

I have spent my entire professional career helping individuals understand their self-worth; their aspirations; and the avenues open to them to achieve their goals. As a senior military officer, I worked with young enlisted and officers to provide them with opportunities for growth. During my years of teaching (at the high school; junior college; and college levels), I have continued to work with students to help them focus on their goals and work to provide them opportunities to achieve their dreams. Today, as a Professor at the University of Nevada, I work with Crisis & Emergency Management Graduate Students to find them organizations where they can intern to gain real-world experience. I have been very successful in placing people in roles that are compatible with their personal/professional goals. I never give up on any person. I teach people to be winners.

I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree and have a Master of Science Degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology. Both of these institutions required extensive training in Physical Science and I went on to hold numerous technical positions requiring a detailed understanding of Physical Science during my 30 year career in the USAF. Specifically, I was an Orbital Analyst in Cheyenne Mountain (CO), where I applied Kepler's Laws on a daily basis to satellites orbiting the Earth. I worked in the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program and became an expert on global weather systems. Also, I was a Space Shuttle Flight Controller at NASA/Mission Control and became an expert on chemical reactions, specifically, hypergolic gases used to power the Space Shuttle in space where there is no oxygen. I have an excellent understanding of chemistry and physics.

I believe that any speech beyond 10 minutes is probably wasting the audience's time. I speak in a clear, precise, and brief language. I enjoy being in-front of people and giving speeches.

I continuously study the history of our various cultures evolved and, in some cases, became extinct. I love to delve into historical facts and discover the relationships between various cultures and the territories they inhabited.

I am currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). I teach in the Graduate School and instruct Graduate Students on writing their Masters Degree Thesis. I have extensive experience in writing, proof-reading, and editing college papers on a variety of topics. I have written extensively and enjoy working with students to improve their written communication skills.

looking for to my next session

I had my first session with Sanford today, and it went very well. We began working through the St. Clair College Entrance Examination mathematics material and made it through the Pythagorean Theorem. The session was structured, clear, and helpful. Sanford was patient and did a great job helping me start rebuilding math fundamentals I have not used in a while. I feel like this will be a good fit, and I am looking forward to continuing next Wednesday.
