Hi, my name is Kyle, and I am a licensed Special Education teacher and academic tutor with experience supporting students in grades K–12. I graduated summa cum laude from Nevada State College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Counseling. I began tutoring and substitute teaching while in college in 2015, working with students across a variety of grade levels and subject areas. These early experiences helped me develop a patient, supportive teaching style and a strong understanding of how students learn differently.
From 2017 to 2023, I worked for the nonprofit organization Jobs for Nevada’s Graduates (JAG-NV), where I taught employability skills and provided academic tutoring and mentoring to high school students. In this role, I supported students with resume writing, mock interviews, job preparation, and confidence-building, while also offering academic support and individualized guidance. This experience strengthened my ability to work one-on-one and in small groups, build trusting relationships, and support students with diverse learning needs.
In 2023, I began teaching full time as a Special Education (Resource) Teacher while completing the iTeach Nevada program, earning my Alternative Route to Licensure in K–12 Special Education (Generalist). I currently teach and support students in grades 9–12, providing instruction in Math and Geometry, teaching Study Skills, and co-teaching courses such as Physical Science, Biology, and Civil Rights and Liberties. My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and flexible, and I focus on meeting students where they are academically and emotionally. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and feel capable and successful in their learning.
